P6: Carry out post-production edits to the sound elements

I recorded 5 different sound effects that I planned to use in my radio segment. The 5 sound effects I have recorded and the edited version of them:

The reason I decided to record these sound effects because I felt like it would set the tone for the interviewee and would allow the audience to visualise what the interviewees would be talking about. Before the interviewee started speaking for the second and third interview, I added the sound effects I recorded for that interview, in order to set the tone for the audience. So, for the interview with my family member and her being a mother of 3, I added the children playing just before in order to set the tone. 

However, I didn’t want it to be too noticeable and flow in just right before she speaks, in order for me to achieve this I needed to edit this well. I used Garage band to do this. I adjusted the volume levels in order for it to flow in and flow out efficiently. This is evidence of me editing the sound effect of the children playing.

In order to make the sound effect flow I adjusted the sound levels to be softer/louder depending on the sound by using the automation tool and then I changed the sound waves depending on how I wanted it to be and what I thought will be best. For the children playing I changed the automation levels by making the sound flow in and flow out smoothly in order for the cut between the interviews to not be sharp.

D1 - Resubmission

Omniya Tajni D1: Evaluate how the technical and auditory qualities meet the identified purpose When I finished creating my radio segment, I presented it to the 2 clients Tamasha and Coney and created a focus group in order to gain feedback and suggestions to anything that I can improve to make it better. Presenting my product to a fours group was a huge benefit as it allows me to gain detailed feedback from the clients included, as they would be very specific and make suggestions to what I can do to improve my final product. In my focus group, I was able to receive positive feedback as well as slight improvements that I could make to improve my final product and make it even better.  The members of the audience really liked the topic that I decided to focus on and how restaurants in the borough bring individuals together due to the fact that it is local. This allows me to meet the client brief as I was able to explain and talk about location in Tower Hamlets that mean...
